WHAT WE DO

Technical Assistance & Business Development

RH Impact’s work applies sound public health practices including assessment, program planning, implementation, quality improvement and evaluation that are solidly grounded in the principles of racial and health equity and reproductive justice. These principles reflect Life Course Theory in that it recognizes that one’s health is impacted by experiences and events across the life span and that these experiences can adversely or positively impact one’s health and outcomes over generations.

The Technical Assistance approach relies on the strengths of community systems of care to provide the necessary support to birthing people while also addressing root causes of poor maternal health outcomes.
The Business Development approach involves mapping out a strategic direction that aligns with and promotes RH Impact’s vision and mission. Business development draws upon RH Impact staff talent and expertise to meet the needs of a diverse clientele, ensuring that all projects and initiatives are implemented in a well coordinated and thoughtful manner that is responsive to communities. We implement our funding strategy by leading and/or supporting the development of proposals for potential clients (RH Impact has successfully worked with foundations, hospitals and healthcare systems, state and federal agencies to achieve the shared goal of birth equity. Throughout our client engagement process, we maintain healthy and respectful relationships with the client, community partners, national partners and other stakeholders where shared learning and decision making is paramount. As such, the Technical Assistance and Business Development Team’s oversight, strategic direction and incremental approach to our work embeds organizational capacity building opportunities in all project activities.

Insights From Our Team

Our approach relies on the strengths of community systems of care to provide the necessary support to birthing people while also addressing root causes of poor maternal health outcomes.

Programming Design Phases:

The Technical Assistance Team provides quality assurance on behalf of RH Impact. We achieve this by centering equity in the program and project design including how we engage stakeholders and internal teams. Our approach to centering equity involves acknowledging: bias, cultural bias, cultural hegemony, inequity, and exclusion and building skills to discuss this reality in our work and in how we work. Our team’s deliverables can range from final reports capturing a project’s findings to strategic planning recommendations for organizations seeking to embed equity in their work.
