Training, Praxis & Evaluation
Utilizing a combination of assessment, training, and technical assistance, the Training, Practice, and Evaluation Team supports organizations in developing a Culture of Birth Equity that ensures equitable outcomes for Black birthing people.
Our core services center RH Impact’s Birth Equity Assessment, an organizational equity assessment, and our seminal training series, Birth Equity Foundations, Deconstructing Bias, and Respectful Maternity Care.
The Birth Equity Assessment supports organizations in identifying strengths and gaps in capacity to implement system-wide changes to improve birth equity. Collaborating organizations are motivated to address inequitable birth outcomes and address system-level practices inhibiting equity.
RH Impact’s Birth Equity training series facilitates organizational learning on the structural and social dynamics within health care institutions and the community that prevents optimal births for every woman/birthing person, particularly Black birthing people. Through the topics of racial equity, social determinants of health inequity, collective impact, and advocacy, participants gain skills to assess their role in health system transformation. The trainings seek to shift birthing environments towards the promotion of equitable outcomes for Black women, birthing people and babies, increase awareness of policies and practices that inhibit birth equity and develop the skills needed to promote birth equity in organizational settings.
Our services are rooted in the principles of reproductive justice, Black feminism, birth equity, and health equity and quality improvement to guide organizations.
Our intake process begins with the completion of this Collaborative Inquiry Form. Based on your responses, we will determine the next steps for future engagement and potential collaboration. A representative from the team will respond to you within 48–72 hours. We look forward to hearing from you!
